Remembrance Day

November 11th has been observed as Remembrance Day since the end of the first World War in 1918—the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

Remembrance Day is for remembering all our Canadian Armed Forces, nurses, doctors, and civilians who were committed to protecting our values and freedoms.These individuals are our heros! Like Gayle Holtz's (our President’s) grandfather, Clifford A.J. Sparkman, who fought in Italy during WWII with the Saskatchewan Light Horse Infantry.

This November 11th, please take time to bow your head at 11:00 AM for two minutes— remembering our heros and all they did for us. It is time for us to reflect, honour, and thank them. We encourage our staff, clients, suppliers, family, and friends to purchase a poppy and wear it on the left lapel area of their coat or shirt—over our hearts in remembrance.  

On this November 11th and all the other days of the year, we express our appreciation. Without their sacrifice, we would not have the freedom to live in this country: to enjoy, to travel, to do as we desire and when we desire, to freely speak and not fear the repercussions, to have rights to an education, our own beliefs, faith, and even our gender. Really, the freedom and right to be who we want to be.

This Remembrance Day, please take time to remember the fallen, those who came home, and those who continue to keep our country free. Lest we forget.
